Project Engineer, Bapco Modernization Program (BMP)
Bapco

Noor is an Engineer in the Bapco Modernization Program (BMP), a multi billion dollar expansion of the Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) Refinery.  Noor’s  role and responsibilities vary across engineering and project management fronts. To date, Noor has taken a role as a member of the project engineering management team for the ongoing BMP early works, and as an engineer with the offsites and utilities group.

In her role in the BMP early works, Noor has participated in scoping project requirements, and was heavily involved in the tendering, technical and commercial evaluation of bids, negotiations and contract award. She has then followed on to support the project team during the construction phase. Noor has also been involved in the bidding and technical evaluation phase of the BMP’s Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) bids. Noor has had immense exposure and on-the-job training throughout the project cycle, and her learning was accelerated by close mentoring of experienced professionals and daily interactions with interdisciplinary engineering teams.

Noor has joined the BMP Team on a secondment program from Newton Consult, a young management consultancy firm where she also works with a diverse team of consultants coming from finance, legal, and project management backgrounds.

Noor is a recipient of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Programme (CPISP) and has graduated with a Masters in Civil Engineering (MEng)  from University College London. During her university study, Noor’s  undergraduate research gained distinction in a cutting-edge discipline linking concrete technology and waste management. She subsequently worked on a year-long masters design project for a train line extension in London.

Noor’s interest and passion in international development, engineering and travel led her to join Engineers without Borders, where engineers create initiatives to tackle development challenges around the world. Noor received the QUEST Kenneth Watson Travel Award from the Institution of Civil Engineering(UK) to travel and conduct a development project in Mozambique.

Noor volunteers as an international development researcher for Ayadi Relief organization in Bahrain. Noor’s research has led to developing a 3 years strategy for the organization and facilitating it’s international  partnerships. She has previously volunteered as a technical officer in a homes renovation project, and she is currently leading a housing initiative for refugees in Jordan.

Noor is a graduate member of the Insititution of Civil Engineers (GMICE) and a member of the Bahrain British Business Forum. She is an avid traveler and an enthusiastic runner.
