Executive for the Energy & Chemicals (E&C) Business Unit (EAME)
Taco de Haan is Fluor Corporation’s Executive for the Energy & Chemicals (E&C) Business Unit in the Europe, Africa and Middle-East (EAME) region. He holds responsibility for the Oil, Gas and Chemicals capital projects executed in this region for our Clients. Reporting into him are the following E&C offices:
Farnborough – United Kingdom Kuwait City – Kuwait Moscow – Russia
Amsterdam– the Netherlands Al Khobar – Saudi Atyrau – Kazakhstan
Madrid – Spain Abu Dhabi – UAE Bashra – Iraq
Gliwice – Poland Johannesburg – South Africa
Large projects report directly into Mr. de Haan for which he is often also the executive sponsor.
Since joining the company in 1995, Mr. de Haan has held several positions in engineering, project management, site management, office general management, business development, and regional executive management roles.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and he holds a certificate in organizational change & transition from the University of Miami and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Derby in the United Kingdom. Mr. de Haan has participated in several executive management development programs such as Leadership in the Global Enterprise at Thunderbird University in Phoenix, Arizona.
Mr. de Haan is chairman of the board for the European Construction Institute and a member of the advisory board for Avans University in the Netherland. Previously he has been an advisory board member for the Dutch National Innovation council.
As part of his regional responsibility, Mr. de Haan is director on several of Fluor’s entities such as Kuwait, UK and South Africa. He is also the chairman of the JV board of the Fluor-Daewoo-Hyundai partnership, currently executing work with a contract value close to 10 billion US$ in Kuwait.
